SCGI designed the Northland Fire Wire website in late 2007 and has maintained it since that time.  The site is dynamically driven, built with PHP and MySQL.  Articles and media are input through a set of administration pages tied directly to the backend database.  Presentation layer effects are handled through the use of the Prototype JavaScript library and script.aculo.us.  Here's a snapshot of the front page:

SCGI designed the 2006 campaign website for Congressman Jim Oberstar, the senior member of the Minnesota Congressional delegation and the Chairman of the Transportation & Infrastructure committee.  The 2006 campaign was going to be a tough one with former United States Senator Rod Grams running against Oberstar.  During this time, my wife, Melissa, who started her Federal employment on Oberstar's 2004 staff, took the reigns as his Director of Field Operations.  SCGI was tapped to develop a modern website capable of streaming video and audio.  The front page featured a Flash photo slideshow and a couple of dozen campaign ads were shown through embedded Flash videos.  The campaign website received praise for its look and feel as well as content and was chosen to be archived by the Library of Congress as a representative example of campaign websites from the 2006 elections.

In late 2005, SCGI was approached by the Texas Senior Corps to design a website for their state's program.  SCGI had built the Minnesota Senior Corps website in 2004 and it was discussed at a national conference.  That led the Texas program to me.  The criteria for desgining the website was very specific.  The individual directing the project had specific graphics in mind and a specific color palette.  There was also a desire to utilize Flash to provide some motion to the site.  What follows is the site that was launch in March of 2006.
